Our game of craps is governed by the following rules.
PLEASE NOTE: unlike most real world tables, Parlay Entertainment Virtual Craps offers payouts in both whole pound and rounded penny amounts, so although suggestions may be made for your bet amount, games do offer proper payouts rounded to the nearest penny.
If you are new to craps, it can be overwhelming at first, but the basic flow of the game is easy. Understanding this flow is the key to knowing when and where to bet on the craps table.
In a new round, the first roll of the dice is called the "come out roll". On this roll the shooter is trying to establish the "point". If the dice shows 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 on the come out roll, then that number becomes the point. If the come out roll is 7 or 11, or 2, 3, 12 (craps) the round is over and a new round begins. The large puck labeled "ON" indicates that the point has been established and is placed over the appropriate number.
Once the point has been established, the game allows further opportunities to place bets between rolls. The round is not considered over until either the point or a 7 is rolled after the come out roll. Only a roll of 7 or the point can end the round.
The Pass Line bet is the basic opening bet at the table and can only be laid before the come out roll. Pass Line bets pay when the come out roll is 7 or 11 and lose when the come out roll shows "craps" (2, 3, 12). If a point is established on the come out roll, play continues and the pass line bet wins when the point is rolled and loses when 7 is rolled. Unresolved Pass Line bets cannot be removed from the table; they must remain on the table until the round has completed.
The Odds bet is simply the best paying bet in Craps - it pays according to the true odds of winning the bet (see below for details). After a point has been established in a round, you may wager up to triple your Pass Line bet with an Odds bet. This bet is placed behind (below) your Pass Line bet on the table. The Odds bet wins when the point is rolled and loses when a 7 is rolled. You cannot make an Odds bet without having made a Pass Line bet.
The many bets in Craps that have different durations, odds and stipulations; familiarize yourself with all of them to truly enjoy this exciting table game. The odds for each bet can be seen on the table or when hovered over with the mouse pointer. Many bets either require wagers of certain values, or should be made at certain values to get the best payouts and avoid payouts being rounded to the nearest pound - these suggestions will also be made within the game interface for you.
Betting on the Don't Pass Bar is the inverse of betting on the Pass Line. This bet pays if craps is rolled on the come out roll and loses on a 7 or 11. After the point has been made, this bet wins on a 7. You can place odds bets on the Don't Pass Line just as you can with the Pass Line. Also, like the Pass Line, don't pass bets remain on the table until they are resolved.
If the roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, the Come Point is established. The Come Point pays if it is rolled again before a 7 is rolled. If a 7 is rolled, the bet loses. The Come bet works just like the Pass Line bet but it can only be placed after the point is made. The bet is placed on the "Come" bar of the table. The following roll is the Come Out roll for the Come bet, paying on 7 or 11 and losing on 2, 3 or 12. If the Come Point is determined the dealer moves the Come bet from the "Come" bar to the bar corresponding to the Come Point (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10). If the Come Point is rolled again before a 7 is rolled, even money is paid on the Come bet. Unresolved Come bets may not be removed and must remain on the table until a roll of 7 or the Come Point is rolled.
Odds bets can be placed on Come Bets in the same fashion as Pass Line bets.
This bet works the same as a Don't Pass bet except that it can only be made after the point has been established. The bet is placed on the "Don't Come Bar" on the table. When a "Come Point" has been established the dealer moves this bet from the "Don't Come Bar" to the box representing the point. The bet now pays even money when a 7 is rolled. Don't Come bets stay in place until 7 or the point is rolled. You can lay odds bets on all Don't Come Bets.
These Odds bets serve to supplement the payoff of the previous bet if it wins. Pass / Come Odds bets may value up to triple the amount of the original bet. Unlike the original Pass / Come bet, Odds bets may be removed or reduced at any time.
A Don't Pass Odds bet serves to supplement the payout of the associated main bet. Unresolved Don't Pass / Don't Come Odds bets can be removed or reduced at any time. These bets may not be placed so that the payout exceeds triple the amount of the original Don't Pass / Don't Come bet.
A Place Bet wagers that a number will be rolled before a 7. The bet is placed under the corresponding number in the narrow bar below the 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 box. Place bets are suspended on the come out roll as indicated by the puck, which is turned to "OFF" at this time. Place bets may be removed at any time.
Buy bets are placed to the bottom right of the number on the felt. A 5% commission is charged to the player when they win a Buy bet. Buy bets are also inactive on the come out roll and may be removed at any time.
Lay bets are the opposite of Buy bets. They are placed above the corresponding number in the narrow unlabelled box. A 5% commission is charged to player that win this bet based on the projected payout. These bets are active during the Come Out roll, but may be removed at any time.
Hardway Bets gamble that the roll will turn out 4, 6, 8 or 10 as doubles (2's, 3's, 4's or 5's) before a 7 or the "easy" way. The bet is placed on the box containing the picture of the corresponding dice combination. Rolling a number by doubles is rolling a number the "hard way". Unresolved Hardway bets may be removed at any time.
These wagers are made on the next single roll of the dice only and are resolved immediately after the roll.
The Horn bet is a four way bet wagering that the next roll is a 2, 3, 11 or 12. This bet must be placed in the box labeled "HORN" on the felt. A Horn bet places a quarter of the total bet on each crap number and the 11. Bets may also be placed individually on the 2, 3, 11, or 12.
